🚨 Increase in Reports of Nuisance Vehicles Across the Area 🚨

Good morning Resident

Kent Police has seen an increase in reports relating to nuisance vehicles, particularly quad bikes, off-road motorcycles and other vehicles being ridden unlawfully on public footpaths, parks, open spaces and roads. These vehicles can cause significant concerns for local residents, including anti-social behaviour, noise nuisance, damage to public land, and danger to pedestrians and other road users.

What Can Residents Do?

✅ If you own a quad bike or off-road motorcycle, ensure it is used legally and only in appropriate locations with the landowner's permission.

✅ Secure your vehicles when not in use. Off-road bikes and quad bikes are often targeted by thieves, so consider:

✅ Parents and guardians are encouraged to ensure young people understand where these vehicles can and cannot be ridden.

How to Report Nuisance Vehicles

If you witness nuisance vehicle use, please report it to Kent Police and include as much information as possible:

📍 Location of the incident, consider what3words
🕒 Date and time
🏍 Description of the vehicle (colour, make, model)
👤 Description of the rider(s)
📸 Any photographs, video footage or doorbell camera footage, where safe to obtain

If the vehicle is being ridden dangerously and there is an immediate risk to the public, please call 999.

Community information and intelligence helps us identify offenders, target patrols and take action against those causing repeated issues within our neighbourhoods.

A great example:

On 20/07/26 PC Weatherall and I received reports of a quad bike riding anti-socially in the area causing concern to other road users. We attended , the quad was stopped and seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act.
