🚔 Joint Roads Policing Operation Across Ashford District 🚔

Officers from Response Teams, Neighbourhood Policing Team and Road Policing Unit recently joined forces for a dedicated operation across the Ashford District, targeting locations identified through collision and casualty data as hotspot areas for serious injury and fatal road traffic collisions.
 

The operation focused on identifying dangerous driving behaviours, educating road users, and taking enforcement action where necessary.
 

As a result, officers issued 21 Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) for:

✅ 10 × Speeding offences
✅ 3 × Mobile phone offences
✅ 2 × No insurance offences
✅ 1 × Red light offence
✅ 4 × Seatbelt offences
✅ 1 × No MOT offence
 

In addition, officers achieved the following outcomes:

🚗 24 drivers stopped and given road safety advice and education
🚔 1 stolen vehicle recovered, with the driver now under investigation
🔎 3 drug searches conducted, resulting in 1 positive drug find
 

The operation also led to the arrest of two adults, on suspicion of Failing to Stop for Police and Causing Serious Injury by Dangerous Driving. Both individuals remain in police custody while enquiries continue.
 

Every offence detected during these operations represents an opportunity to prevent a collision and protect those using our roads. Through targeted enforcement and education, we continue to work towards reducing serious injuries and fatalities on Ashford's roads.
