E-Scooter Seized in Bearsted! |
An e-scooter has been seized in Bearsted recently. It was seen by my colleague and I riding on the road at some speed and after asking the rider to stop they decided to ignore us and ride away! We caught up with them either way and took their scooter from them.
Please remember that e-scooters are illegal to ride on public roads and highways, you can however ride these on private land with landowners permission. E-scooters differ from e-bikes. E-bikes are legal however with restrictions, to ride one on public roads without a licence, tax or insurance, your bike must have pedals, a maximum motor output of 250 watts, and an assisted speed capped at 15.5 mph.
