Drug Driver Arrested and Vehicle Seized

🚔 Drug Driver Arrested in Headcorn 🚔

Local Neighbourhood Police Officers were on patrol in Headcorn yesterday morning when they stopped a vehicle on Grigg Lane after identifying that it was being driven without insurance.

The driver admitted to officers that he had smoked cannabis in the days prior. A roadside drug test was conducted, which returned a positive result for both cannabis and cocaine.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of: 

✅ Driving with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the legal limit
✅ Driving whilst unfit through drugs
✅ Driving without insurance

The vehicle was also seized.

The driver has since been released on bail pending the results of blood analysis.

Driving under the influence of drugs significantly impairs reaction times, judgement and concentration, putting all road users at risk. We will continue to take robust action against those who choose to get behind the wheel whilst impaired.
