You Said, We Did - Nuisance Vehicles and Road Safety Matters

Dear Residents,

While on patrol in the Newington area, I carried out checks following concerns raised about vehicles being parked on green spaces and causing obstruction within residential roads.

During my patrol, I identified a vehicle of concern parked locally. After seeing the driver enter and drive the vehicle, I stopped it a short distance away. Checks confirmed the vehicle was being driven without valid insurance, and further enquiries - with the assistance of other officers from the Community Safety Unit - identified additional offences. The driver of the vehicle was subsequently arrested on suspicion of the following offences:

This proactive stop helped remove an unsafe and unlawfully used vehicle from the road and ensured appropriate action was taken.
