On Wednesday 15 April, during the Easter holidays, a multi‑agency event was held at Calverley Park, Tunbridge Wells, providing young people with positive activities and informal education in a safe, supportive environment.
The session focused on helping young people understand the importance of making positive choices, raising awareness around alcohol misuse, and promoting personal safety while spending time in the park. By engaging with young people in a relaxed setting, partners were able to offer guidance, support, and practical advice in a way that was accessible and age‑appropriate.
The event was supported by the Family Hub, Kenward Trust, and Sport On Your Doorstep, whose involvement helped create a varied and engaging programme that encouraged participation and open conversation.
As a Community Safety Unit, we continue to work closely with partners to ensure local parks and green spaces remain safe, welcoming areas for young people, particularly during school holidays when they are more widely used. Initiatives such as this play an important role in early intervention, education, and strengthening positive relationships within the community.
