Drink/Drug Driver Arrest

Dear Resident,

Officers from the Kent Police Tonbridge & Malling Community Safety Unit were on patrol in West Malling on the evening of 4th April when a vehicle was observed driving dangerously on the A228 Kings Hill. The vehicle was stopped and officers identified that the driver was under the influence of both drugs and alcohol. The driver was arrested, charged, and will appear in court.

UK road safety figures from 2023 show that 260 people were killed in drink‑drive collisions, and nearly one in five fatal crashes involved drink or drugs.
