Drink Driver arrested in High Halden

Last Friday, Officers from Ashford CSU completing plain clothes work in the Town Centre, identified a vehicle which had poor lane discipline, was seen to be swerving and the driver was also observed to be shouting/slurring abuse at passers by whilst moving.

Checks completed on the vehicle showed it was registered to the High Halden area.

Assisted by our Local Policing Team, Officers attended the registered owners address and located the female driver as she was exiting the vehicle.

She initially refused to provide a breath sample, however after persuasion, did so and failed the roadside breath test, providing a reading of almost double the limit.

The driver was arrested for driving whilst over the limit and also for possession of Class A after a search in custody meant an amount of white powder was located concealed in her clothing. There are a number of other offences which the driver has since been identified for.
