General Update

Dear residents,

An update regarding what’s been happening in your areas.

Over the past several weeks we have responded to numerous incidents in the town and surrounding areas resulting in arrests for various offences. two persons were arrested for various thefts with numerous items of stolen items recovered, two for assaults, three for breaching various orders and one being recalled to prison.

Two people were dealt with via Community Resolutions for thefts and the stolen items recovered. 

We are still receiving calls in relation to youths using catapults against wildlife and to cause criminal damage in general. Two shop windows had been damaged in the town centre, ongoing enquiries are being made to identify the suspects. We are still routinely patrolling the parks and pleased to say we have had fewer calls. Three catapults along with golf balls, metal ball bearing and metal nuts that are being that are being used to cause damage were seized from youths.

Following our multi-agency approach in tackling our regular persons drinking within the designated Public Space Protection Order areas causing anti-social behaviour we are pleased to say that there have been no further breaches.
