Disqualified driver

Good evening,

Whilst on patrol in the St Michaels area on the 17th january 2026, I was made aware of a vehicle being driven by a female believed to be disqualified from driving as a result of a previous drink‑drive conviction.

Upon stopping the vehicle, the female initially attempted to provide false personal details. However, further checks conducted by PC Laker established her correct identity. She subsequently confirmed that she was a disqualified driver and was fully aware that she should not have been driving.

The female was interviewed at the roadside and reported for the following offences:

Driving whilst disqualified

Driving without insurance

Driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence

A relative was contacted and attended the scene to collect both the female and the vehicle, resulting in a rather unhappy end to her journey.

A file has been submitted, and the female will be summonsed to attend court at a later date. It is likely she will receive an extension to her current driving disqualification, along with a financial penalty.
