General Update

Dear residents,

An update regarding what’s been happening in your areas.

Over the past several weeks we have responded to numerous incidents in the town and surrounding areas resulting in arrests for various offences. 5 persons were arrested for various thefts with numerous items of stolen items recovered, 1 for drug offences and 2 others were recalled. 2 other persons were arrested for failing to attend court.

6 people were dealt with via Community Resolutions for thefts. 

We are still receiving calls in relation to youths using catapults against wildlife and to cause criminal damage in general. We had made enquiries and identified some of those responsible who have now been dealt with robustly. We are routinely patrolling the parks and pleased to say we have had fewer calls.

As a result of a multi-agency approach we have been tackling the issues of our regular persons drinking within the designated Public Space Protection Order areas causing anti-social behaviour. As a result, we have identified the most prolific persons and have issued 10 Community Protection Warning’s. This has had significant impact with only 1 of the persons breaching his CPW. He has now been issued with a Community Protection Notice.
