Road Closure RATCLIFFE HIGHWAY, ALLHALLOWS

Afternoon,

There is a road closure on RATCLIFFE HIGHWAY, as you approach ALLHALLOWS where Southern Water are repairing a leak in a mains water pipe.

There is a road closure in place under permit number LQ002SWAT14416955-01 and as such is enforceable.

We have been made aware that the traffic management has been removed from one of the lanes. THIS HAS NOT BEEN DONE BY THE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT COMPANY.

The road remains closed regardless of whether the cones and barriers are in place, until the permit is either rescinded or expires.

What could happen if you go past a “road closed” sign into the permitted area:-

Fines and penalty points: You can receive a fine and penalty points on your driving license.

Prosecution: You could face prosecution for offenses such as careless driving, especially if your actions lead to an accident.

Liability: If an accident occurs, you could be held liable for damages.

Injury risk: You risk injury to yourself, other drivers, and road workers.

Ultimately this about safety, both yours, other road users and the workers.
