Let’s Get Chatty event to prevent fraud

On 14 June 2025, I had the pleasure of attending the Fraud Prevention event arranged by the Let’s Get Chatty Group (LGC), alongside PCSO Hendrie. We were also joined by Steve and Kerry from Barclays Bank, who brought with them a wealth of knowledge and experience on the important topic of fraud prevention.

Organised by the brilliant team at Let’s Get Chatty, the event was both fascinating and insightful. With a full house of engaged participants, the session covered vital tips on how to protect yourself from fraud and scams—something that affects so many people across our communities.

Attendees really valued the generous literature provided, offering practical advice to take away and use in their day-to-day lives. At the end of the event, I hosted a light-hearted yet educational Fraud Prevention Awareness Quiz, which was a great success. Everyone got involved and had fun while reinforcing their knowledge of how to stay safe.

Thanks to Shila Jassal for arranging the event, and a huge thanks to PC 30410 Ranaweera for the support and contribution.
