ATTEMPTED THEFT OF LEAD OFF ROOFS

Good Morning Resident,

Please be aware that a suspect in the East Malling area has gained access to a roof with intentions of stealing lead. This was 23:35 at night on the 13th June 25. He gained access by climbing on top of a wheelie bin. He caused significant damage to the roof. I have attached a photo of the suspect. I have included Larkfield and West Malling in this post as well as these types of criminals can cover a wider patch.

As part of the crime prevention course I am doing wheelie bins should be kept out of view/left in rear gardens as they can be used to gain access through open windows, fences and low roofs like the one mentioned above. This is call ‘remove the means to commit crime’. CCTV is a good way of deterring crime however in this case has not stopped the suspect committing the crime as he was wearing face coverings and gloves.

This post is for your awareness.

Thanks
