Drug Driver Charged!


Back in January, Beat Officers arrested a male on Station Road in the Town Centre, after he was seen to be driving with poor lane control and to stall the car repeatedly at a green traffic light. When speaking to the driver, he admitted to driving whilst under the influence of Ketamine and was also found to have a small clip bag of white crystallised powder in the centre console, which has since been tested and confirmed to be Ketamine. After arrest, he was taken to the Police station where a blood sample was obtained and sent off to a forensic lab, which has now came back and confirmed he was over 4x the limit and had traces of Cannabis in his blood.

 

The male returned on Bail yesterday, where he was charged for the offences of Driving whilst over specified limit for Ketamine, Driving whilst unfit through drugs and Possession of Class B. He now has a Court date in awaiting in May.
