Addressing Nuisance Youth Activities

Dear Residents of Medway,

We understand that nuisance youth activities can cause concern and distress within our community. From anti-social behaviour to more disruptive actions, such activities can have a significant impact on the well-being of both individuals and families in our area. As part of Kent Police’s ongoing commitment to ensuring Medway remains a safe and peaceful place to live, we have been working proactively to address these issues.

Kent Police has been focusing on areas where nuisance youth behaviour has been reported. Through increased patrols, community engagement, and targeted operations, we aim to prevent any escalation and to ensure that those engaging in disruptive behaviour are dealt with appropriately. We’re also working closely with local schools, youth services, and other community partners to offer positive alternatives for young people and address the root causes of anti-social behaviour.

However, the police alone cannot tackle this issue without your support.

If you are witnessing any nuisance youth behaviour or have concerns about specific individuals causing disruption in your area, we encourage you to report it to us. The more information we have, the better we can respond to the issue. Here’s how you can reach out:

  • Call the non-emergency number: 101
  • Report online via the Kent Police website
  • In an emergency or if a crime is in progress: Dial 999
  • Use the Kent Police app for confidential reporting
  • Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers (0800 555 111) to report anonymously

  • Please remember, it is important to report all incidents, big or small. Whether it's loud behaviour late at night, groups loitering in public spaces, or anything that feels concerning, your reports help us take action.

Together, we can make Medway a more peaceful and supportive community for everyone. By working together, we can provide young people with positive alternatives and hold those responsible for nuisance behaviour to account.

Thank you for your continued support.
