Update - Crime Prevention Event for Motorbike Thefts in Medway

Dear Resident

Colleagues and I would like to express our thanks to those that attended the most recent crime prevention event, aimed at reducing motorbike thefts across Medway, which was held in Rochester yesterday in conjunction with the regions branch of Motorcycle Action Group. Likewise to anyone who has attended any of the previous three events last year.

This event was well attended with constructive conversations around the issue, advice given out alongside free alarms, locks and marking equipment as funded by the PCC Matthew Scott.

I am mindful that whilst the events have been a success and prevention is a significant part of our role, there are still people who have unfortunately been the victim of thefts and one theft is still a theft too many. This is therefore by no means a pat on the back and to say the work stops here.

As always our sincere thanks go to Motorcycle Action Group for their continued work around the issue and their joint work with us, to the Roads Policing Unit who were also in attendance and to the PCC Matthew Scott who has provided additional funding and support in order for these events to continue from last year. Also our thanks to Medway Council for their continued partnership working and their assistance in providing the area for the event.

If you couldn't attend, please be aware we will also be holding another event, likely next month, and once the details and location are confirmed these will be advertised in advance.

Also, coming soon, crime prevention events in Medway relating to tool thefts and thefts from vehicles. These will also be advertised in advance.

Thanks

Kind regards

Rob
