Latest Fraud Alerts

Dear All,

Please see the last round of Fraud alerts, “ALSO THERE IS A NEW SCAM”, where upon residents are being targeted by scammers calling stating that they are Police Officers From Tunbridge Wells Police Station , they are giving a false force number and Surname stating that either your Debit/Credit Cards have been cloned and they try to get you to give them your Bank and Card details.

Or, they are requesting residents to withdraw large amounts of money from your accounts, and they will send a courier to collect it, as they need to look at the serial numbers believing it to be counterfeit, they then give the resident a script to say to the bank staff, as to the reason for the withdraw, as they state that bank staff are involved in the scam.

Kent Police will never ask for your bank details, or for any monies to be withdrawn.

Bank staff should always safeguard their customers, asking as to why large withdraws are being made.

Kind regards,

PCSO Simon Fuller.

Tunbridge Wells Neighbourhood Team.
