Police Obtain Closure Order on Nuisance Premises

Good Morning Resident,

Kent Police have successfully obtained a closure order on a Residential Premises in Sheerness. The premises had become a hub for Anti-Social Behaviour, Drug Use, Violent Crime and was a place where the residents would host the local criminal fraternity on a daily basis, causing police to be in attendance at the location very frequently.

The order is a result of months of work and evidence gathering by the Swale Community Safety Unit, lead by PC Jamie Spencer who is the ASB officer for Swale who successfully put the case before the court to obtain an eviction of the tenants and the closure of the premises, allowing the housing provider to eventually clear the property and house new tenants.

This demonstrates that Kent Police does take ASB seriously, and in the worst cases perpetrators can and will be evicted from their premises. Please continue to report ASB, Drug Use and crime in your area to Kent Police so we can act where necessary to make your area a safer and more pleasant place to live.
