Christmas Safety

Good Afternoon all,

Christmas is fast approaching! It's a wonderful time of year but can create opportunities for criminals. Please keep the following safety advice in mind to help keep you, your loved ones and your property safe this festive season

·  When buying or receiving gifts, leaving the boxes outside your property for waste collection can show potential criminals that there are valuable items in your home. Try to cut up boxes, or hide high value item boxes under other waste

·  Keep your property securely locked, including all windows and doors

·  If you are planning on leaving for a Christmas holiday, don’t post images or stories regarding this. It will let people know no one is home in your property

·  When online shopping, try to only use reputable websites. If an offer is to good to be true, it most likely is. Visiting these websites leaves you at risk of online fraud and online detail theft

·  Consider installing motion lights outside, CCTV or a ring style doorbell camera

·  Don’t leave high value items or gifts inside your home on display near windows

Hope everyone has a great time,

Kind Regards,

Tim
