On 8th November 2024 , officers from the Dover Neighbourhood Team, Road Safety Unit, Speedwatch and Specials conducted a Traffic Operation on the A257, Roman Road, Wingham and the A256, Ramsgate Road, Sandwich. 

This resulted in: 

1 x arrest for drug drive , Possession class A and bladed article

29 x Traffic Offence Reports for offences including speeding, no seat belt, no MOT and no insurance 

2 x vehicle seizures for no insurance and no tax. 

There has also been a National Campaign for Eyesight testing for drivers, therefore, 26 drivers were stopped and asked to take part in an eyesight test at the roadside. 

This ‘Day of Action’ is a continued effort by officers to improve Road Safety and target those who are not adhering to the Road Traffic Act and potentially putting other road users at risk of harm.
