Teenagers charged following disturbance in Deal


Four teenagers have been charged in connection with a disturbance in Deal town centre on Tuesday 9 April 2024.

Officers were called to the High Street at around 4.30pm that day following a report of an altercation involving a group of teenagers and a number of adults.

It was reported that two men and a teenage boy were assaulted.

Arrests made

Patrols attended and two teenagers were arrested nearby. Two further arrests were made in relation to the incident the following day.

Suspects charged

On Wednesday 9 October, a 16 year old boy was charged with affray, common assault and possession of a class B drug.

A 17 year old girl was charged with affray, assault on an emergency worker and common assault.

Two boys, aged 14 and 15, were each charged with affray.

The four teenagers who were charged, and who cannot be named because of their age, are due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 10 December 2024.
