Pass Wide and Slow - 15/09/2024 12:00 - 15:30

Dear Residents,

The Pass Wide and Slow registered charity with attendance from beat officers, are holding an awareness walk, ride and cycle today from 12:00, starting at the Ship Inn, Cobham, walking to the Red Lion, Cuxton and then returning back to the Ship Inn. The planned finish time is 15:30.

This is to raise awareness of the new highway code added in 2022;

Highway Code Rule 215 - ''Always pass wide and slowly. When you see a horse on a road, you should slow down to a maximum of 10 mph. Be patient, do not sound your horn or rev your engine. When safe to do so, pass wide and slow, allowing at least 2 metres of space.''

This event will be held to promote this new piece of legislation and is for horse riders, cyclists, dog walkers, and generally anyone who wants to come along. (if you are riding a horse please make sure you have public liability insurance).
