A man in his 40’s has been arrested for two separate shoplifting offences following reports of high end alcohol thefts.

Kent Police received a report on Friday 13th September 2024, that alcohol had been stolen from Waitrose, Sevenoaks.

With the assistance of the local authority CCTV a beat officer and PCSO completed a search of the town, locating a male matching the description on the high street in Sevenoaks. Enquiries were conducted into this incident and one on on Thursday 12th September, including the examination of CCTV footage and the man was taken into custody.

PC Nick Hubbard said “Shoplifting is far from a victimless crime, with numerous ripple effects, including financial losses for businesses, increased prices for consumers and strain on local resources. I am fully committed to targeting repeat offenders, as they inflict the most harm on our district and must be dealt with robustly and brought to justice."
