Shed Breaks Sevenoaks

Good morning Resident,

Do you own a shed?

Please remain vigilant due to a recent increase in shed breaks.

On 1st September 2024, a shed on Church Street, Seal, was targeted, resulting in the theft of a lawnmower.

On 2nd September 2024, attempts were made to break into a shed on Woodside Road, Sevenoaks.

Recently, suspicious activity was reported on Seal Allotments, where sheds were tampered with.

This is an important reminder to review your shed security and ensure valuables are not kept inside.

Outbuilding security

Here are some useful crime prevention tips to protect your property:

1. Locks and Security: Use sturdy padlocks and consider installing alarms or motion-sensor lights.

2. Visibility: Trim hedges and bushes around sheds to eliminate hiding spots for potential criminals.

3. Valuables Storage: Store expensive equipment and tools in a secure location or inside your home.

4. Marking Property: Mark your belongings with your postcode or another identifying mark to deter theft and aid recovery.

5. Insurance: Make sure that your home insurance policy covers you for garden theft.

6. Alarms: Secure your sheds by installing shed alarms and security lights.

Stay safe and report any suspicious activity to police promptly.
