Catapult update - Paddock Wood

Dear Residents.

I just wanted to write a quick update in relation to the work that's gone into the catapult issues in Paddock Wood. After working through multiple calls, following up on incidents and going through a lot of CCTV that has been sent to me over the past few months, I have now identified 5 youths that are believed to have been involved in anti-social behaviour or using catapults in Paddock Wood. Thanks to a lot of help from you the residents of Paddock Wood and the Mascalls Academy, I will be working closely with my colleagues in the Child Centred Policing Team to ensure these youths are dealt with. Whilst this has taken time to collate, go through and organise all the evidence that has been sent in to me, it shows that we have made some progress.

Last week I met with our colleagues who cover Marden, Yalding, Staplehurst and Headcorn to ensure that we work together on this, as this is not an issue that is isolated to Paddock Wood. We have agreed to help each other out with any youths found to be involved in anti-social behaviour from our ‘beats’.

I apologise for the brief update and not mentioning other matters involving Paddock Wood over the last week or so. I will try to get more out soon. To those of you attending the Annual Parish Council meeting tomorrow, I look forward to seeing you there.

Kind regards,

PC Connor Geelan.
