Fraud Alert and Distraction Theft


Tonbridge Beat team would like to make you aware of an incident that has taken place. 

Today at a Supermarket Car Park in West Kent a victim has been approached by an unknown female asking her to sign a petition. 

The victim has given her details to the female these details included her home address.

The victim has then driven home to find the suspect there. 

They have engaged in small talk, the suspect has then embraced the victim with a hug.

The suspect has stolen a gold chain from around the victim’s neck. 

There are positive lines of enquires in relation to the suspect. 

 

The beat team would like to advise you to be mindful of any interaction with people you don’t know whilst in public. 

Before given out any personal details be confident that the person you are given them too are genuine. 

Make sure you ask for identification. 

If you are not happy don’t give over any details. 

Trust your instincts.
