Updates from Kent Trading Standards

Dear Residents Kent Trading Standards have released important information surrounding door step scam being experienced across the county.

‘We have seen a rise in cold callers this week across the county. As Spring approaches, criminals use this as a way to try and scam residents. They impersonate traders to suggest your garden or roof needs work or that you need your solar panels looked at. These attempts try to trick you into overpriced contracts or quotes.’

Kent residents targeted by solar panel scam

⛔ Cold callers are actively targeting residents in Kent claiming that their solar panel maintenance check is due. These criminals will always find a reason to find a fault or take money. Some residents are being asked to sign a solar panel maintenance contracts that locks them in 10 years.

🚨 This is a scam.

❎ Do not sign a contract if you are unsure.
