Kent Fraud Alert

Good morning Resident,

Below is a recently seen scam in Kent, please share with family and friends.

Scam Call Impersonating HM Government
From KCC Protect - A Kent resident was targeted by a scam rebate call, claiming the Government is
offering a £3,000 rebate (although it was not specified to the resident what this rebate was in
respect of). The caller knew the residents name and details which led the victim to believe it was
genuine. However it was a SCAM. Government Departments will never cold call you with offers of rebates.
If you get cold calls like this, remember to think ABC and do no Assume or Believe that it is
genuine but always Confirm.
If you think that you may have been a victim of this type of scam, then
contact your Bank immediately and report it to Action Fraud at
www.actionfraud.police.uk or call 0300 123 2040.

Kind regards,
